hey guys, trying to help out my old man.. hes got an 81 3/4 ton, chevy longbed 4x4, w/ a 350, 3spd ( 1, 2, D..so thats a 350 or 400 tranny? ?? not sure? cuz i got a 700r4 in the K5) and he needs a new carb. bad!! its stuttering all crazy! its got 104K original miles, which is bad ass! so anybody recommend a good carb, that isnt to expensive?

thanx

2 or 4 barrel carb...?
square or spread bore...?
The tranny could be either a TH350 or TH400 as they both are 3 speeds,
the shape of the tranny pan will help your local parts house identify the tranny.

Ok..no problem, it's most likely a quadrajet which is a spread bore design.
Spread bore carbs have small barrels in the front and big barrels in the back,
Square bore carbs have the same size front and rear.

part # SUM-210216

$315.00

Or you can rebuild the one he has now a lot cheaper.....

i was over at my buddies house tonite, he has a brand new eddlebrock 750cfm carb.. selling it for $200.. he used to work at auto zone and said that might me too big for a stock 350 v8. it was going to be for his friends 454, but it got stolen.. so now he's selling it. do u think that is to much carb?

how much am i looking at for a rebuild? if its more then 200, i dont think its worth it since my friend has the eddlebrock.??

the 750 is fine, the carb wont supply any more air than the engine needs.
You can nail the thriottle and all 4 bareels will open but the secondary air valve will only open as much as the engine demands.
