hey guys. i was leaving work the other night and had a hard time starting my truck. 305 rochester carbed. as i was patting the gas trying to fire it up it flooded out. well i let it set for a while and after finally getting it cranked its developed a big miss. i checked the plugs and they still look fine thinking i may have fouled them out with all the gas. the carb is not to old but has always been a pain to crank. i also checked the choke and it appears to be working properly and it just had a new mechanical fuel pump installed. any ideas?:dunno:

Its not uncommon for a plug to foul or crack up inside and refuse to fire again after being flooded,it might look OK but it'll be wet with fuel from misfiring if its fouled enough not to fire...you'll have to remove one plug wire at a time to find out which one is not firing...and replace it..
Sometimes just running it will make the plug come back to life, but not often..

thanks. just replaced with all new plugs and it ran better. now as for the carb. i have a buddy that's gonna give me a new edelbrock 600 electric choke. are they pretty good. my truck sees no rock climbing and only mud from dirt roads and the occasional mud durring hunting season and inclines going up mountain roads
