Carb Help Needed

Go buy the Doug Roe Q-jet book.I'd focus on choke, engine tune, and timing before I assumed it is anything else.

Another vote for Q-jet (if your staying carb.)

Pull one off a truck with a similar setup to your truck. Buy a quality American-made rebuild kit at D&R on Columbia Drive. Do some research about tuning. Once they are set up (if the carb came off something similar to your rig it should be very close) then they are very trouble free and as economical as you can get with a carb.
