Carb question

My secondary plates are sticking open on my q-jet under the butterfly after I gun it or after I go into a passing gear on the freeway. After words I get either a high idle or a REALLY rich mixture. i do go into the sand dunes alot. I think a little bit of sand is making it stick. What should I do? Thanks

Rebuild it!

Mine did the same thing and I dont go anywhere near sand and if sand is getting in it causing it to stick then it is prolly getting in your motor too which isnt good. I rebuilt mine for about $15, it was pretty easy and works good now.
