I have a Holley 670 Street avenger modified to Truck avenger specs. Its sitting on a stock 305cid w/ 130k miles. The only mod is Mallory dizzy, heddman headers, flowmasters (true dual exhaust).

Now, my buddy has a 600cfm plain jane holley w/elect choke.

Right now my truck runs pretty rich, would i benefit by going down to the 600cfm??????????

He wants my 670 to put on a LIncoln Continential w/ small block 400cid that he is redoing, turning into a street rod sorta kinda.

Running rich can be fixed with some tuning, but a 670 is probably too much for that 305. If a carb is too big for an engine, fuel economy suffers unecessarily. I run a 600 on my mildly modified 350.

ya, you can go down a size on the jets, or just put the 600 on, im sure ur engine doesnt suck in the full 670 the carb is capable of. but i think it just comes down to what u like and what carb u want on ur engine. but if it was me, i would put the 600 on there, im sure the engine would like that size carb a bit more.
