Okay so we have everything ready to start the new motor tomorrow, but a quick question about the carb. Would it be okay just to use caps where all of the vacuum lines would go or are some of them important? Any feedback helps. Its an 86 k5:waytogo:

Gonna have to let people know what carb you got. Spec's also EGR or no EGR, you will have one hose to dizzy advance.

The carb also controls emissions and a fuel vapor canister if you have one. Vac advance on the dizzy hooks up to timed manifold vac, which means it pulls low vac at idle, and vac climbs as RPMs climb. If you hook a vac gauge up it will be easy to tell the difference. Also most carbs have the vacuum brake booster hookup on the back of it as well.

I believe it is a stock 2 barrel and yes ecm...Will let you guys know tonight if its an aftermarket carb
