Changing out the distributors on my tbi swap and noticed that the outside diameter below the gears are different. Does this matter? Tried swapping the gears, but the shafts are different sizes.
That portion of the gear (the OD of the lower flange) does not touch anything and is not critical. The ID must fit over the oil pump drive. If the gear portion and the ID are good, lube it up and drop it in.
