Hey guys.
So i recently noticed some staing and and fuel odor from my truck when i turned the engine off and i saw fuel leaking between the carb spacer and the intake man. so figured i faulty carb gasket took the carb out and i saw this in there.

does this look ok?
cleaned the carb it a bit with a cloth gave the bowls a little tweek cause i saw some fuel stains under them, so the gasket looked like a piece of paper, replaced it with another thicker one wich had the form of the intakes oppening and installed everything back on, not the first time i put a carb on so i know what i am doing. now i turned the engine over and noticed something odd on the engines sound and the rev, like if something was wrong, checked every whose, fuel lines and all ok, so got it gave it some gas felt fine then i suddenly gave it gas and let go and the revs would go lower as if the car could die.
Its a holley 600 cfm, used but in ok condition.
Any thing that could help, let me know.
Im trying to replace the carb for a 650, does this look ok??

Not sure what that is?? Looks like a sanding drum from a dremel. Did u get it out of there? Your carb looks great, but the symtoms your describing sound to me like an accelerator pump. You checked for the obvious problems but maybe this shed a little light..

Everything there looks good. That carb isn't a 600cfm though. What is the list number on the front of the air horn? IIRC those Holley spread bore carbs are 750cfm.
