Ok my 85 jimmy has a 305 with a older 4MV? q-jet that has the choke coil mounted to intake. After adjusting the choke some the other day in auto class it now starts great in 30ish degree weather but seems to have a miss or something as it is sitting there idleing and then when i drive to school (bout 2miles) and put back in park it is still missing and is alittle worse....once it warms all the way up the miss is practically gone but seems to get a studder/hesitation if i sit at a stop light or let it idle in gear for a bit? The engine has headers/rollertip rockers/alum intake/"most" emmisions gone. any help would be awesome thanks Patrick!

OK, how do you know the carb is to blame? Did you check for vacuum leaks yet?

I cant see any spots that have carbon build ups and cant here any hissing.....at one time i did have one and it hissed and had a black spot on the intake. Is there a better way to rule out vaccum leaks?
