I didn't even know that Dana corp. made brakes. Generally anything that Dana makes gets my stamp of approval. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

That is, except some of their gaskets. I prefer Fel-Pro/Federal Mogul's products when it comes to gaskets. But some of the gaskets that Victor makes are very nice...especially their tuff cork differential cover gaskets.

I guess if we're going to be technical about brakes, my fronts on my truck are Carquest blue box brakes which would be their premium semi-metallics. All Carquest brakes in red, blue, and gold grades are made by Raybestos in case anyone was wondering.

Who makes Napa's rotors? Aimco?

I've used the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic from Autozone with good results. I got 30,000 miles on the front pads on my wife's '99 Tahoe. They have a lifetime warranty. When they wore out, I went to Autozone, handed them the old pads and they handed me a new set. They also don't seem to put out as much dust as other brands.

I had Raybestos heavy duty pads prior to the ones from Autozone. After 10,000 miles, they were shot and put out a butt load of dust. I've still got Raybestos shoes on the rear and they seem to be doing fine.

They premium rotors are also made by United (Dana's brake line) All the premiums rotors are made in either Canada or USA (at least the ones I have seen/used/sold). When it comes to Napa brakes, though, ONLY USE THE PREMIUM UNITED LINE... /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif The cheap TruStops and the midline Saftey Stops suck IMHO...I had the TruStops on my 14bff with disc for a while and they blew...they were WAY too soft and wore unevenly and faded as if they were the size of the pads on my girl's civic. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif good thing they only cost $12.00 /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

I DO agree with you on some of the Dana-made gaskets (under the Victor Reinz label) I too will stick with FelPro myself or another high-performance aftermarket supplier like Perceys or Mr. Gasket...

The Raybestos Rotors I got for my B-Body spindles on my ElCamino were made in Venezuela /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
