have a sb406 chevy, vortec heads, 350hp 327 cam, nv4500 and 3:73 gears. need a new carb,, recommendations,,, what jetting for the recommended carbs. looking at Jegs rebuilt qjet, if edelbrock,, which one and what jets and rods.. I had an edelbrock, couldnt tune it to tow 6000 lbs, kept bogging terrible,,, thoughts,, no injection right know for me...

if you go edlebrock, i would call their help line, tell them what size motor you have and your application

if you go ahead and get an edlebrock from what members recomend on here, then call edlebrock's help line anyway and tell them your motor size and your application plus what your altittude is and they will tell you the part numbers for the springs, jets, and rods, and you can order them right then or at your local parts store.

Everyone has their own preferences. For a 400 CID SBC I'd stay <=650 CFM, preferably 600 or less. All universal carburetors require optimization of idle, main and power circuits which can only be accomplished using a method or wideband A/F meter.
