So,
I have a ghetto wierd old Holley carb, that is 450 CFM running on my 350. When I step on the gas from a stand still or slow roll, it feels like it just bogs, kind of like it isnt using its full engine power potential. The detent works fine when I'm already rolling in third. I took it through some mud today and it was tough to get the tires to spin when I floored it.
...which is very depressing when I see video of SBD doing doughnuts in dry dirt!
For a while I have been researching the correct size for my setup, and it seems like I should have a 650 CFM carb. So I just bought an edelbrock thunder avs 650 and it should come in this Friday.
Is the 650 going to give me the additional power that I am looking for?
Is it odd that the PO put a 450 CFM on a 350?
