Maybe I'm confused. Is the II or III just a description of the actuator and not the switch itself?
yes, it's just the cover.. the 2 has little bumps on the cover.. 3 has grooves.... any of them can have lights top, or bottom.. or pretty much any legend is available.. BUT, the prob is, as I alluded to, you can't just call carling and order 3 switches with a certain wording (legend) ya need to order 1000....
that said.. switch color, lenses and light color are all pretty easy to find, I'll go look around for ya... just finding ones with proper labeling is....
and be aware.. people will come in and show these GREAT switches they got that look just like carling off eghey, etc with lettering... they aren't even close to the quality of a carling...
there are search engines to find what distributors around the country have what switches in stock... i'll have to go look around for it.. it may actually be right on carlings page somewhere..
carling is a pain in the arse, you should see the order form for these switches! for our boat factory, I make Eddie order that sh*t, gives me a headache!
anyway, here's a pdf that shows the difference between a 2 and 3, etc, to get you started..

I'll get back to ya.... been a while since I dealt with carling... I do have a whole box of various covers in black, grey, red.. with different colored lenses, etc.. but I don't have any switches....
oh, and if you are going to be playing with these, YOU NEED TO HAVE THE 2 PRONG VRT COVER TOOL, it is THE only way to get the covers off.. they show it to the right on that PDF... also I STRONGLY suggest that you run the "boxes" that you can link together to hold the switchs.. STRONGLY.. i'll go find some links for you...
