So i finally removed the 465 from the 84 with the help of a couple buddies. All in all it wasnt too bad we first took the case then the tranny all went smooth. The clutch was thrashed the bellhousing was worse than I thaught and the bearing cover on the tranny was thrashed. I will try to attach some pics. The orange bellhousing I picked up from K5Monster looks like it wil need some modifications to work, there are no threads in it like the aluminum one I took out and the clutch shaft hole is much smaller and would have to be modified plus it would not be an inclosed system like the other bellhousing. I may have a buddie try to weld the aluminum one or do you guys think it is too far gone.

Mechanical clutch right?

I'd say try to find another transmission complete and use it. Especially since you'll need a new input anyways. If you aren't in a hurry (it sat for a year? :)) I've had good luck calling on local rigs being parted out, and picking up the pedals/transmission etc for $50.

4 speed

I cant get rid of the 465, does anyone know anything about aluminum welding. Does this look like it could be repaired?? Thanks

You can get parts here:

I'd say you need a new input gear and input housing plus input bearing at the least. In all honesty you could find another SM465 for the cost of thos parts and it'll prolly have a bell with it.

maybe the pic was decieving

I really thaught all I needed was a maindrive/bearing retainer and I would be good to go. Here is a pic of the shaft. I ordered that retainer last night - $30 4wheel parts I will have it today.

I wasnt planning on it does it look like I need too. This is the first time I have had it out and I really dont know much about the tranny.

I would if I were you. It looks like the throwout bearing dug in a little bit.
