Carnage Q\'s Cracked Frame...PICS
So as some have seen in the rocky mountain forum, I broke some things on the trail yesterday. First off I broke the mount that connects the transfer case to the cross member.
Is there a specific name for this bracket?
Where would I get a new one?
It looks like fixing that would just require unbolting the crossmember and the *two peices of* the bracket, then bolting a new one on. does that sound right?
here are some pics...

And I also noticed a CRACK IN MY FRAME /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif

Don't box it.
Stop drill the crack and weld it closed. Then grind it flat. Take a piece of 4"x4" 1/4" (or 3/8") thick angle iron and weld it over the area. Make the peice of angle about 2" bigger then the crossmember and leave about 1" on each side. And then weld it to the frame to make a new foot for the crossmember. You will have to drill the new plate with the bolts for the xmember.
That should make it plenty stout.

This sounds good to me, what do you guys think? And should I reinforce the other side at the same time?
Thanks Guys! /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif
