Carnage thread

it needs one O2 sensor per bank, zoomies would be 8 individual pipes. I'm sure you could get the PCM programmed for open loop and just eliminate the O2 sensors all together.

You can reprogram to basically run the system as a "smart" carburetor even though it's fuel injection. If fact I think it's turnkey motors that has been working this system a lot in their race motors.

The down fall is that it doesn't truly adjust for altitude, it compensates but can't fully adjust for max efficiency.

I remember a few years ago Campbells had like 3 different "PCMs" that they carried for the class one so they could change them out to get the best performance for a given location. Temp and altitude hurt them bad for a while I know.

With a boat I would assume he is taking it to the same lake most of the time so altitude wouldn't be an issue, temperature could still be compensated for with an IAT sensor.

This in no way has anything to do with carnage though unless we count the vette that rolled and donated the engine we're talking about.

He has no idea what the issue was, it may have been a low battery but that has not been confirmed.

Personally I think the problem is that the LS6 is sitting in a garage in CA instead of sitting in the engine compartment of his Jimmy.

The ls6 will never go in the Jimmy.

No idea what was wrong. I think it was scared because I was going to do Golden Spike.

The Jimmy has been running fine. Untill Friday. Started hard when leaving work. Then ran fine. Untill I'm on highway 24. Just dies going down the road. Like I turned the key off. Rolled to the side. Started at 3rd turn of the key. Did this 2 more times. But it made it home.

Definitely a wire issue now.

And it was raining and I had my new welder wrapped up on my trailer. Thought I was screwed.

Cleaned all of the ground connections. None really needed it. I think it's a broken wire that disconnects at times. I have noticed its only happens going up hill.

you might check your ingition switch on the column....I had a couple fail, one came completely in half..... Wiggle wires while its running...

Finally got some time to work on this. Truck ran, then just died. Got my other harness out. Cleaned it up. Tried to start it, no dice. Changed the wires between the coil and ICM. It fired and ran. Has not died, until I shut it off. We will have to see.
