so it seems my truck likes to eat the top bolts on the adapter, going into the tranny. When i got the truck they were both broke, anfter the rubicon trip(i guess thats what did it) they are both broke again

is there a good fix for this? this time they broke, i had replaced the tranny mount, so i am not shure what is causing this to happen.
any ideas?
700r4 to np241

usually the threads strip before the bolt breaks. it shouldn't be twisting thats breaking them or all 4 would be broke. what grade bolt are you using? 8.8 or 10.8?

i got them from the chevy dealer last time, so what ever is stock
guess ill have to go with a higher grade this time
always somthing

they are probably grade 8.8, equilent to a SAE grade 5. probably wouldn't hurt to try a 10.8 bolt.

do you have the support brace that goes from the tcase to the bellhousing bolt?

yep shure do
guess ill step up to the higher grade, im shure they wont be easy to find out here

Mine stripped once. I drilled out the holes and helicoiled all four holes, and haven't had a problem since. I think it is just a weak design. Thats a lot of weight hanging off the back with only threaded aluminum holding it on.
