Like the title says im having to rebuild my carport due to rotted wood and storm damage. I currently have all the siding underneath torn down and trying to thing of thing i might be able to add to make working under there better. Currently looking at an oscilating fan to mount to the truss and adding light as there currently isnt any on the ceiling. Was thinking of adding some type of anchor system to make removing the top on the k5 a 1 man job. Also there is no power so will be throwing some power outlets on the house side and possibly adding air lines as my compressor is on the exterior wall of the garage. Anything else you can could think of while all this is apart?
The front 1/2 of the brick is my garage and the second is the kitchen and the breaker panel is on the other side of the door.

LED shop lights would be nice...cheap at harbor freight and other stores..maybe a 1500 lb winch for the top lift..
In AZ it must get wicked hot--maybe some lattice or panels that can be opened on the side facing the fence for better ventilation ..

Oh forgot to mention i plan on putting up an 8 foot tall gate on both sides of the carport to keep prying eyes out, as someone has called the city on me for the blazer being on jack stands. Then on the righg side putting up some type of mesh material along the poles there.
Also apparently i never changed my location on here when i moved to virginia. Lol so that's updated now.

In my town a carport has to be open on 3 sides or else they call it a garage and tax you on it...a few people on my street "enclosed" theirs with the white lattice stuff, and the building inspector came by and said "As long as it is "lattice" and not solid wood,I guess it's still "open",but if he wanted to be a prick he could have labeled it a "garage" and they would either have to pay property taxes on it,or take the walls off!..

They discourage using "tent garages" here now for storage, the yuppity neighbors think they are "eyesores" and complain--a few years ago some geniuses decided to move their BBQ "indoors" when it began to rain one day ,and they rolled the grill inside one,it ended up catching the tarp on fire, which melted and dripped on the occupants, giving them third degree burns..

A similar incident in winter happened when a guy decided to put a wood stove in one so he could stay warmer while pursuing his woodworking hobby..now they are considering banning them,so many people are now buying those metal framed car ports with the metal siding instead--but those are "garages" because of the steel on all 4 sides..

Thats why im only doing a gate and mesh screen it will still be open up on top of the gate but make it so my projects are visable to be complained about.

Last time the neighbors called on me, when the city inspector came to make sure I had done the needed corrections, I handed him 2 sheets of collage rule paper, 2 colums ea of addresses and code violations.

The guy has never been back. As I noticed some of my complaints were not addressed, so I notified my city counsel person.
Turns out the rat was the dam ice cream man.

Someone complained that the front tires were off as it was on jack stands and my license plate cuz the rear bumper is off. So i zip tied the plate to the frame and set the tire up againat the axle, still wasnt good enough cuz they came back with another warning. Of course im never home when they come by either so i cant get an actual explanation from them.
