I changed out an in-tank electronic pump awhile back in my wife's Astro. All worked great for nearly a year, when we started to notice the smell of gas around the van when it was running. This finally led me to pull down the tank again this past weekend to fix the leak. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Once I pulled it down (with the help of a good buddy /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif ) I found that the dang fuel float arm and float deal was MIA... no WONDER the gas guage didn't work any more! /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

Anyways... the question is WHERE can I find just the float assembly for something like this? I called around to the dealer (~$400 for the entire assembly), AutoZone (~$140 for the entire assembly), and Napa (who doesn't even carry them) - none of them can source just the float. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I'd rather not pay $140 for something I don't need.

Does anyone out there know where I can find a float with its metal arm for a reasonable price?

Thanks.

well that really sucks.. because i just threw out a fuel pump from a 1999 s-blazer that i guarantee would have the same arm and float as your astro.. it was up for sale on here for at least 2 months and i tossed it... ill check around the shop at work to see if anyones got anything for ya..

I'd really apprecaiate that! If you come up with something, let me know. Otherwise, I think a local yard has a pickup assy. for $65. Only hitch? They are only open until 5pm... so I'd have to leave work early.

It it TBI or MPFI?

Why didn't you ask me? I work at a commercial auto parts store and every dealer in this area has an account with my store, I could have hooked you up if necessary.

No one sells the float alone... you have to buy the entire pickup assembly. I don't really didn't want to pony up for it... I'm a cheap bastid when it comes to DD vehicles.
