Where do those that have an IFS burb and cb's have the antenna mounted? If you have pics, that'll give me a better idea.

I searched and didn't find anything.

Barn doors? If so Id say just get a long cable and run it though the back doors.. On my IFS truck i ran it though the 3rd brakelight

you dont have to have a solid front axle, to mount a cb antenna :dunno: :dunno:

No kidding...I had an square nose that I had the antenna on the front fender. I just don't want to drill into the fenders on this one, though.

The wiring isn't a problem, I was looking for ideas on mounting locations.... :wink1:

Mines a mag mount on the roof on my fullsize blazer I had a fender mount that screwed to the inside lip in the gap between hood and fender

I have a mag mount, but I want something permanent. I am leaning to mounting it on the roof rack, but I don't really want something that tall all of the time. I might just get an adjustable one that I can "lay down" when I'm not using it.........

Comments?

If it's for your '79, you could procure the "west coast" mirrors, then just get the mirror mount style most truckers use.

I helped thezentree install a 102 on the back bumper of his yukon with barn doors. Used a ball mount, and mounted it on the passenger side, top, pointing straight up. Couldnt mount it like I have mine, off the side of the bumper, because his bumper is rounded on the side. If you have a step bumper(doubt it), you could mount it on the side with a ball mount.

i just fabbed a lil bracket up and used some self tapping screws, to put it on the back of my truck, next to my tailgate.

If you dont want to put holes in the body, you can always use duct tape :D
