I am an RF Specialist and make antenna and line for a living. In GENERAL, for Chicken Band, the "longer the antenna the better" rule of thumb will hold up. Do NOT run dual antenna on anything smaller that a semi-tractor. The result will be all of your power going off in a random direction. A large flat ground plane is important for the proper function of your antenna, But the proper area for this plane for CB is more than 250 feet in radius. The proper antenna length is 18 feet tall. What does this mean?? Well, all CB stuff on the market is just make do crap that will not work properly. Makeing them work is more a game of luck that skill. All that said, I do have a lot of experience with these antenna and will help anyone who wants it for free. I can use my Network Analizer to give the best possible match to your system. The only catch is you would have to come here, to Raymond, Maine. I can not bring equiptment on runs (it costs 35k+, weighs 90+ lbs and does not like vibrations) But if you insist on CB and are planing a trip to Maine drop me a line and I will help you as best as I can.
