Which one is a better over all cb, I.E. more options, better tuning, reception. Granted you'd have to consider every mdoel each company makes, I'm just looking for an overall census. I've never had a Uniden, just a lil Cobra Ultra 19 which was good for trails.

Was lookin at a Uniden PC68LTW or Cobra 25 WX NW.

My main concern is distance, which I already know is only as good as the antenna. I will be driving from VA to alaska in april and in Canada, cb's can be yer best friend.

I have a President Lincoln converted for 11 meter.

Great radio !!! Little more spendy then a basic CB, but has all the features I wanted. By the Way, President was bought out by Uniden years ago.

If you are buying a new radio I would get a Uniden. The quality control on the Cobras sucks.

My big thing honestly is distance and the quality of incoming/outgoing. I know theantenna makes up alot of that. I do alot of driving duringthe summers, snowmachinginthe winters so I figured I'd break down and get a good radio the first time.

I foudn the PC78LTW for 107$ shipped. Anyone know of a better place to buy them? Also thinkin about a Wilson 5000 with magnetic base($79). How strong are the magnets?

Someone enlighten me as to what "True Tune" and "Mega Tune" do.

I have a cobra 148GTL i will sell you for $100.00. I can check shipping if you give me an addy. :thumb:

If i'm not mistaken Cobra owns Uniden.

Uniden used to make Cobra radios. Cobras are now made by Maxxon with the cheapest parts possible.
