CB Radio/Car Stereo sharing CB Antenna?

jp, not to sound like I'm defending Jagged but calm down man. All he's done is tell you why you shouldn't do something based on his knowledge of facts.

Uhmmmm...I know nothing about this stuff but Jagged, aren't you going to a University for Electrical Engineering and other crap? Then there's the HAM stuff...

I don't really give a **** if he's going to a "University" or if he has "HAM" experience!

I come from the old school of hard knocks.........I served my country on a Submarine for 6 years where we made things work because we had to. I'm a service-connected disabled veteran with more "Real World" knowledge than any college graduate gets from a "University".......

I researched, as I stated originally, on the internet and found in a CB Radio forum how this can work........so I put it together and posted my information about it.

If this douche **** wants to make a point on how this can damage my stereo based on theory that's one thing......but if you're going to come in a post something about me doing it wrong and that I shouldn't recommend this to anyone then you better show a link to some proof that shows that someone else did this and their outcome! Don't go spouting off your mouth because of some "University" experience or the fact that you've played with some "Ham" stuff.

I was playing Navy hundreds of feet below the surface of the ocean when most of this forum was still chasing akward little teenage girls around trying to figure out what to stick their peckers in!!!

I'm sick and tired of people that have been around a forum for a long time that act like they have all the answers.......then some other douche **** shows up that's been on the forum for just as long or even longer, just proving they don't have a life either other than posting on a forum, and wants to back up his "buddy" in some way of showing dominance........

**** BOTH of you!!!!

Wow. Uhm. Really? Reported.
Good at making friends huh?

For the record Jagged worked on airplanes in the AF. He knows a thing or three too.
I was in the Marines but can usually only manage to fry things and shock myself.

Have a nice day.

Report me......it bleeps out what it needs to. I'd love to have a chat with a moderator about how I feel!

Feel free. Explain how we were out of line for trying to help you and trying to explain how he knows what he knows. Have a nice life.

You're not doing a very good job here. We have a lot of vets on this board, including me. I'm sorry you came out with a service-connected disability.

And frankly, I don't appreciate your condescending tone here. As AJM alluded to, I maintained avionics and communications systems on aircraft in the Air Force.

I fail to see why this upsets you so much.

Like I said, it's entirely possible that your radio can reject that RF. But, it's also entirely possible that eventually it will smoke the input.

Ive seen some positive threads from you jp, and from what I can tell your a pretty good guy, but he was giving you his opinion and what he suggested you do. He was simply posting so that others would know there is a possibility it would fry the input to your car stereo, and I can understand his worries.

What works for one person doesn't work for another. On my sisters 78, the previous owner had wired it up with speaker wire that had exposed strands showing, and I wondered why it never worked right. he had chopped up the factory harness for an aftermarket radio, then put the stock one back in and sold it evidently.

When someone is simply trying to help and let you know that what your doing when your trying to better your design, id take the free advice and smile if they have experience in the field. I suggested to my buddy he shouldnt put a 524 lift cam in his stock 5.0 mustang, he didn't listen and insisted it wouldn't matter, and then wondered why his car ran so bad. Put a smaller cam in it and it ran good. Sometimes its good to hold your personal opinions close, but at the same time being able to listen to those around you and learn and modify your theories to adapt to new information, instead of just saying it fit so it must work.

I thank you for your positive post in light of my adolescent responses......I don't normally respond this way. Lately I've had a hard time in my personal life and I responded quickly without thinking rationally.

However, this one escallated when I posted that some people's opinions are opinions and until facts are posted they are still opinions. It did originally come across like someone telling me I'm just wrong and that I shouldn't be giving people advice. So I took it personally........what made this worse is the "throw it in my face" attitude and then AJM putting his 2 cents worth in to back up Jagged and yet not have anything condusive to say towards the point of the thread. He just simply was jumping on the bandwagon against me personally.

This type of behavior isn't warranted in any situation.....it's all immature. My only point left is that if you're going to try and rub your extensive experience in my face about something you need to back it up with some solid proof otherwise you're just trying to make me look bad for your own betterment. Then if you threaten to report me......then don't respond again. Your further response puts you at my assumed level and makes you no better!

I should not have responded the way I did and for that I am sorry..........but neither of these other individuals need to say anymore either. It has and only will continue to make them just as immature........

Whereupon I justified myself.

what made this worse is the "throw it in my face" attitude
You asked for proof, did you not?

Correct.

My only point left is that if you're going to try and rub your extensive experience in my face
I did no such rubbing. You asked for proof, and I stated that the "proof" required a bit of education to understand.

You're the one that threw the "experience" card, trying to belittle me.

about something you need to back it up with some solid proof otherwise you're just trying to make me look bad for your own betterment.
I don't need to "impress" anyone on this board. Nor am I trying to make you look bad. From the get-go I've said that this setup may happen to work for your radio... it's just not a good idea to suggest it to others.

I'm curious what other proof you're looking for?

but neither of these other individuals need to say anymore either. It has and only will continue to make them just as immature........
I would like you to point out exactly where my posts have been immature.

Feel free to contact me any old time, after your vacation, that is........

You have a lot of nerve calling people "immature" after a tirade like that. :deal:
