Better check the ohms output on the CB,that speaker is 4 ohms, and most CB's had 8 ohm outputs...best to keep the speaker matched to the output to avoid harming the output transistor...
If you used that speaker with a stock GM radio of 70's vintage it would likely fry that transistor--most AM or AM/FM radios then were 8 or 10 ohm output..

Most external CB speakers were a mid range design for better voice reproduction too,but that isn't a big deal really..

Heed the above advice.

I'd recommend getting a speaker intended for CB or ham radio and either make the unit fit, or remove the speaker from the enclosure to fit perfectly in the space you have.

Not that it's a big ticket item, but I'll speak as a lifetime CB'er and fairly recent licensed amateur radio operator-- you get what you pay for with external speakers. Avoid the truck stop $10 specials like Barjan or Workman brand. If you can find NOS Radio Shack speakers, those were honestly the best bang for your buck of all time. My second choice would be an Icom commercial/public safety/ham radio speaker from the 80s-90s era. They are the correct impedance and have the correct 3.5mm (1/8") plug if you want to keep it. I don't know for sure who manufactured those for Icom, but the two I've got beat all others hands down, even Motorola commercial/public safety speakers

Please let us nerds here know what you decide to do :)

I assume your dash 4x10 slot is empty now? It shouldn't be hard to get any speaker in the 4" range mounted in there. Having it in the dash seems like a cleaner solution than another box stuck somewhere. What model CB do you have? If it's 4-Ohm compatible, a generic 4x10 is a quick fix. If 8-Ohm, you'll have to look harder for that speaker. I think only really old CBs need 10 Ohms and in that case you will probably have to find a "real" CB speaker. Even then, you could take it out of it's box and mount it under dash. A lot of the speakers sold for CB are amplified, in which case it should be even higher than 10 Ohms to the radio - basically compatible with any radio.
Where is the CB mounted?

ive got a cb from 1991...
radio shack cb mounted in 1991 jc whitney headliner.. hah..ill post pics later. I thought I had them on my cell or posted here but cant find them...

Ever use the GM stock AM/FM/CB head unit? The coolest part is you can play the radio and when a CB signal is over the squelch setting, it cuts over to CB. It would be cool of there was an aftermarket setup like that for other head units, but using USB or Bluetooth.
