Ok I'm gonna rely on all yuo CB'rs to help me out. Lookin for a good, all around 40ch CB with NOAA. Somethin I can rock on the trail, but talk out up to a decent range, maybe 5miles. Lookin at a Cobra 25 or maybe one of the Night Watch ones.. but what is it I will need to really "reach out"?

A high quality antenna. I like the the K40, but the Wilson 5000 is a good antenna also.

Am lookin at the Cobra 25 or 29, but I like the idea of NOAA becuase I do alot of winter driving, and back home during soem tiems its kinda nice to know what the weather is doin...not a necessity but it'd be helpful.

So whats all the hype about "swing" controllers n RF gain packs n noise filters?

Would I be good to go wiht just a good ole Cobra nad wilson antenna?
