CB's

I had a mag mount, really strong one, but the tree limbs and bushes kept knocking it off...............that's gotta be a big problem in So. Cal. and the So. West also!!!
Yeah, I kept knocking mine off at first, but I'm used to it now and I aim for the break in the limbs.:haha:

Having the antenna on the roof makes for fun at drive thrus. Especially the ones with corugated metal on the underside. THe looks from the drive thru window are priceless.

i personally think these antennas are overrated, one main reason they are called "whips" they whip everything around them when you're wheelin'

Started out with a 102 on my dune buggy. Once it whipped around and bent OVER the roll bar & whacked both me & my co-pilot in the head. Hurt like a mofo. It only got that one chance, now it's a garage ornament.

There are only two places I can recall having limb trouble with a mag base out here in CA. One is going into Barker Ranch (where they captured Charlie Manson & family) and the other is on the original Lockwood Valley trail. In Reno, the Circus Circus parking structure sucks......

I just finished installing a different radio/antenna setup on mine. Switched from a Cobra 75 & 102 antenna, to a Galaxy 959 & predator 10k.....My friends say I look like a tornado chaser now, lol.

What dyeagerdy535 said. I used to run a nice Cobra but the only reason I had it was to converse with others on the trail. Given that you can buy those little Motorola walk abouts now for cheap that go up to two miles, I dumped the CB.

I bought a couple of those little two way radios way back awhile ago, but realized they weren't on the same freq as the CB radio,,,,took them back, i'll just stick with the trusty CB
