Alright well i am buying a 81 K30 thats a cab with dump body on it. I assume this automatically means its the skinnier 14bolt.. how much skinner is it? Could i just simply put both the Dana 60 from it and 14bolt in my k5? I know i'd have to move perches and such but width wise? What is the WMS for the CC 14bolt, vs. my normal 3/4 ton one? i searched and couldnt find anything on this already. thanks guys!

C&C 14bff is actually the same as a regular SRW ... except it has dually hubs, and the brake flanges are moved in accordingly. The dually hubs are 2" narrower each side, so the WMS is 4" less than the SRW.

You could swap on SRW hubs to get the regular WMS. You'd also have to do something creative about the brakes, i.e. a weld-on disc kit, or cut and re-weld the flanges [or cut and weld on new ones].

I guess that I have same problem when I use DRW hubs on Van axle, flanges are inside the brake rotor? Damn, that's gonna be a problem in a safety inspection. They wont pass welded caliber brackets. Maybe I cut old flanges off, and fab new ones that I weld on the axle tube, then I have bolted brackets

Wish I had bought an SRW axle in a first place, but this wasn't the original purpose to use that Van axle.
