Cd player mounting question

If I was to mount a cd player vertically in my center console , meaning the face of the stereo pointing up for where my cup holders are, would the cd player still be able to function properly ? Thanx in advance.

Most will still work in that position, but you will get a LOT of dust and dirt into it with it mounted that way.

that is where i put mine ,sorry i don't have a pic .it works fine ,but the only bad thing is ,that every time i open my center concle ,there in a bunch of wires , for the power & speakers. i just tryed to tape um up really good

what type of deck did you get? it will work fine. that is a good idea. i thought about putting a 10" sub in the center console. but didnt.

mine is a pioneer,,,, if i spelled that right. it dosent skip at all. even when wheeling

i have seen them fail at that angle. of course it was in a heep lol. could have been any numerous possibilities but only the cds wouldnt play and the radio was fine so we chalked it up to the angle.

I seem to remember that we covered this topic quite a bit in the Audio forum a few years back, with brands and model #'s offered up as good performers. Might want to check it out...

Unless I'm doing something wrong the audio forum only goes back to 2004 and I've searched through the 3 pages of posts there and could find anything. I figured I'd post it here so more people would see it.
