Hey guys I need some advice.
My A/C in my truck has never worked so I ripped it all out to clean up my engine bay including the A/C casing that sets on my fire wall under the hood. Of course being that this is the first A/C setup I have ever ripped our of anything I quickly learned that the fan that is there that blows the A/C also blows the heat.
My question is: Is there a way,...or do they make,... something specifically for this kind of thing that lets you get rid of everything in that black casing but still have heat? Such as a flat fan that could set right in the firewall door where your heater core is at?
I hope that made at least a little sense. Basically I just want to eliminate the big A/C box and casing but keep my heat. Is there a nice clean way that anybody knows to do this or am I just going to have to rig something up? Let me know what you think and thanks in advance for any help fella's!:wink1:

you could find a truck w/ no ac and use just the heater box under the hood. its basically the same thing as what you have now just a lot smaller cause it doesnt have any of the ac parts.

thats the only way I know to do it unless you wanna buy an aftermarket heater.

Wrong. My Blazer had A/C. Took the box out and made a new one for it. Made it out of some plexi glass. The duct tape is just on there for show.

The pics of it are in Misc Stuff I need on the web

This is just a little redneck but I completly removed the fiberglass casing and AC stuff. Screwed a deep bread loaf pan to the firewall with a 3" hole in the side of it. Outta that 3" hole I had a length of 3" PVC pipe going into the blower. I had to make a square blower hole into a round 3" hole so I used a piece of thin aluminum flashing I had. Siliconed it all up and painted it.
