Ceiling hoist?

What kind of weight do you trust with a set up like that?

Like many other things, there's a lot of variables involved depending on how it's set up. The biggest is distance between supports, and what size/type strut you're using. I've hung over 1500lbs from strut before without even beginning to worry about it when it's properly supported. Hanging a typical pickup bed or cab from it wouldn't even be the proverbial blip on my radar. The "average joe" tends to WAY WAY underestimate load capabilities from various materials, and WAY WAY over-engineers these things as a result.

For further details/proof of the capability of this stuff, see the official ratings for the common P1000T that you'll commonly see at the Home Depot/Lowes/etc (I'm pretty sure one or other carries a different brand, but it's essentially the same stuff..it's been some time since I've bought it at a big box store...) - https://www.unistrut.us/product-details/p1000t
