Searched and not finding what I am looking for. '88 Jimmy that has a factory radio and want to leave it in place. I have seen people put in aftermarket units in the glovebox. I do not care for that. I believe a better option would be in the center console. Any of you guys done this? Links to posts?

You looking to cut out the cup holders and mount it facing up inside the console? I had my CB mounted vertically on the front of the console w/ a couple of L-brackets. You could easily do the same w/ any DIN size radio. It wasn't slick install but KISS and effective.

That's I think the way I'm going to point my son in the direction of. I can live with a couple #10 or 1/4" holes in the front of the center console. Just needs to clear the shift levers.

Ive decided I am going to put stock seat risers under the center console. This will raise it enough to give me armrests. I will then have room to mount a power converter and a stereo. This will all be hidden. A plate will be mounted on the backside to add 110VDC sockets and USBs.
