Subscribed. With tuffy consoles being so expensive, I'd like to see what it costs and how much effort it takes to make a nice custom console.

Update, so far more time than money invested, 35 bucks for a 4x4 1\2 sheet

cup holder view and underside view

Not too shabby. Are you welding it up? What are you planning on doing for the lid?

BTW, I wish I made progress as quick as you on my projects. It's dark here already, and about 7 degrees outside, so I have an excuse ;)

I need to finish making everything including the lid before I weld everything up, The lid is pretty much going to be the same thing as the bottom but I will weld a lip all around to make sure it waterproof and theftproof, I also need to make a little plate to cover the front part of the cup holder. If you notice on the cup holder pic I bent the metal around the bottom of the cupholder so that it can still be removed for cleaning but the console will still be completly sealed

Looks good, I want to do something like that when I clock my tcase and build a custom tunnel and custom console.

summer is here so its time to work on unfinished projects. a little more :grind::hack::weld: and I should have it finished by this weekend, unless work gets in the way again.

Looks pretty good. Only one thing you might have overlooked. I notice you live in El Paso. Have you thought about what its going to feel like when you rest your arm on that in July?

an armrest is already in the works, its almost time to go topless here and that would probably be a second or third degree burn

Good looking project! How deep is the lip, and what are you using for the seal?
