There are two angled brackets that hold the grill on the sides, Those could probably be made out of some angle irons. I also think that the latch might be different depending on the year of your front end.

Thanks for the info! Im kinda building a mutt of a truck lol, 86 cab and bed, not sure the year on the frame but its a 73-80 style lol, and a 73-74 GMC grill. Still collecting parts, the center support isnt made anymore so its a hard to find part especially in the rust belt lol.
