Hey guys. We made our first ceramic coating order through our vendor last week, hopefully it will be here today or tomorrow and we'll be coating a bunch of customer exhaust parts then testing them out. So we hope to be offering it w/n the next few weeks, probably sooner. Pricing will follow so stay tuned! :D

Can I get a guesstamate on coating some bbc headers (typical desgn) and are there color choices like with powder coating?

Probably around 180 for the pair, give or take 20$, for the outside. If they're brand new, haven't been used, we can do the inside for another 75 or so. Most places don't do the inside because its next to impossible to clean it good enough for the ceramic to stick, even with a good blasting cabinet, you can never get everything. As for colors, we can get the following: Gloss black, Shiny aluminum, Red, Orange, White and chrome, along with clear if you wanted any color w/ clear.

130-150 area I would say. The determining factor is going to be how easily they can be cleaned.

What is the turn around time on something like that? I would already have them bead blasted perfectly clean so unless there is other cleaning needing to be done i'll already have that part handled.

Turnaround for ceramic coatings will be about 2-4 days, depending on other jobs getting done. You have to let the part air dry for 24-48 hrs before you cure it, or else it won't adhere to the metal correctly. Bead blasting, out gassing then coating is pretty much the procedure for the ceramic so if you have them already cleaned and bead blasted, then we would just have to outgas them.

Outgassing is when you bake the part at 450deg for about 45 mins to get rid of anything in the metal that might come out when you cure it. If this isn't done, after you cure it you'll get little pin head sized bubbles in the finish. This usually happens with cast aluminum.

Here are some pics of the first test piece we did over the weekend. Its a friend's pipe from his quad. He should be coming down tomorrow to install it and start testing it out. The color is called "Shiney aluminum", basically a gloss silver. The finish came out nice. I'm still learning the best way to apply the coating using the airbrush but its pretty straight forward. I'll update again when we get some more feedback on it :D
