Hi All,

Yesterday I tried installing the power plate TBI spacer from CFM-Tech, as well as a couple of their other parts like the injector spacer, afpr, salad bowl, and fuel line adapter.

I ran into a problem in regards to the fuel lines connecting to the TBI. If I used the stock fittings the fuel lines wouldn't reach because of the new ~3 inch spacer. If I used the adapter (the part that the fuel pressure gauge fits into) then I had about .5-1 inches too much room (the adapter is pretty long).

I was a little worried about bending the fuel lines... wasn't sure if that was ok. Also the distributor coil is kind of in the way, and not that easy to remove because of some plastic in the way of its bolt.

Anyway, I used the search function and found the following comments below. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem and what the did. Or any other suggestions of course, and if it's kosher to bend the fuel lines.

Thanks a lot!

"The only difficulty is that I had to bend and move the fuel lines to accommodate the spacer, which caused a rattle and the fuel lines to contact the body of the truck at first, not a big deal, but it took me a bit to figure out."

"I had to re-mount the dist. coil because the in line fuel pressure guage was in the way. It was also very hard to get the guage to be in the right place. As it is now, its upside down but thats the only way it will go so I guess its fine."

yup, my gauge is remote mounted off the adapter, but I had to tweak the lines to get it to work, and adjust the coil...

I dont have the adapter for the gauge, But I didnt have to adjust my lines at all. Maybe it has something to do with my 2" body lift.

Thanks for the replies.

Ryoken... couple of questions if you don't mind...

I have one of the three throttle cables still connected (the bottom one in my crappy cell phone pic below). Is that cable a press fit, or is there a different way to disconnected it? I didn't want to pry too hard and break it if it wasn't supposed to be disconnected that way.

In my second crappy cell phone pic is the drivers side bolt holding in the distributor coil. It doesn't look it in the picture, but that thing that the throttle cables connect to is in the way. Any idea how to remove that?

Lastly, in regards to bending the fuel lines, did you disconnect them from below and use a tube bender, or just do it by hand without disconnecting them? I have a couple of tube benders, but they won't fit in there. I'm wondering if I could just solve all these problems by going to flexible braided fuel lines. Any reason not to do this?

Thanks for the help!

The bottom cable is your TV cable for your transmission. You just pull it forward till it pops off.

You can bend the fuel lines by hand, just don't kink them. Using a couple box end wrenches is usually a good way to bend hard line without a tubing bender.

All i did is get above my tbi with bolts out and lines attached. Then i held the tbi so that it couldnt wobble and pulled straight up about 2.5 inches. then slid the spacer in. I didnt have to adjust anything else. I did my TV cable by cutting the bracket and welding in a piece the same height as my spacer.

as mentioned, no benders needed, just get up in there and tweak it by hand, it don't need much..

that's a tv.. you should have gotten 2 spacers for under that bracket to space it up for the throttle spacer to maintain proper geometry... and you WILL need to reSET that tv, or you'll nuke the 700r4..

it's easy.. depress the D button on the side, push the sheath toward the firewall, release D, give it full throttle, cable should click out a few clicks, release, done....
