You guys might recall the dubiously named "100 Squarebodies" auction in Grand Island Nebraska in June where 2 Chalets and 2 Casa Grandes were among the pile that got sold off. One of the two Chalets was #0025 which had a winning bid (allegedly) of $10,000: https://www.proxibid.com/1976-Chevroley-K5-Blazer-Cheyenne-Chalet/lotInformation/69190016

Same one now at the Big Iron Auctions. Bring extra steel for the driver's side floorboard ..... and for the .......................

That's my distant relation. He is always buying and selling junk. Big Iron is owned by his brother in law..........

Next good question would be if the June 25 Proxibid figure of $10 grand is legit, or a typo, or your relation bought a batch of vehicles under one big offer and so the individual vehicles might have been assigned an equal amount. Poor ol' #0025 there looks to be a parts donor worth no more than one grand, maybe two, tops.

Big Iron is for selling, not buying. Stuff brings crazy money on there.

JP (the guy selling it) overpays for junk all the time. He sells it for a profit anyway.

Sold today for $3,000. I put a couple bids in yesterday. Should have bid today.

I should have recognized the name within my giant ad text pile - if he snagged Chalet #1158 back in Sept 2014 for $1,700, then he might have made a profit off it. But the last guy at the end of the speculation markup line (after a good repaint) seems to either not be able to unload it for nearly $90 grand, or else there is a glitch in the FB system for not marking that listing after a year and a half as being "sold."

Call me a pessimist on values, or not up to speed on factoring inflation in, but that #0025 looks to be not much more than what unrestorable K5 parts piles sell for, with a $4 or $500 soon-to-be-orphaned camper unit on it.

I am the idiot who bought it from big iron for $3000. The reason I bought it is because the interior is very nice and complete. I am planning to restore it eventually and it already runs perfectly. The rust doesn’t scare me that much because I am planning to do it myself not pay someone else. (The camper wont be orphaned)

More power to ya!. New tires and new or cleaned up/repainted wheels makes a world of difference in appearance. Back in 2010 when I first saw it in Michigan Craigslist ads, it seemed to have the least-faded back door decal I've ever seen, and it still wasn't doing too bad when it ended up in that 13-Chalet Indianapolis collection around 2015, but such is what happens when you leave these out unprotected in the elements. Looks like the 3rd-stripe-down mauve color in that vinyl decal is the quickest to fade, which is one of the reasons why I don't trust that the #0429 $125 grand Chalet in the "Bring a Trailer" auction was a pristine unrestored time capsule rig because that stripe in its decal just does not look right, overrestorred rather than unfaded. But that rig is a whole other story.

Might be worthwhile on this #0025 to price out what you would charge someone per hour in salary for metalwork, then keep a running total of the time put in to fixing all the rust. That would help a lot of guys figure out what the total value of these are when the purchase price is also factored in, versus actual real-world market value.

Yea the tires made it look a lot better. Do you know where to get the 76 decals or do they have to be custom? I can’t find any parts to these.

Dang. Did you actually give Tac his asking price for #1547? Assuming you haven't gotten the whole rig apart, would you be able to get the VIN of that Blazer, pics even, from either the driver's side door jamb or the blue & white RPO tag (if it's still there) in the glove compartment? He never got around sharing that with me, asked him again at his ExpeditionPortal ad for it. Tragic end to that rig, the last of the Indianapolis pile. Meanwhile, Chalet #0099 is the one in CA with the surfboards and ocean coast fishing stuff on the roof, what you show for the other '76 basket case is Chalet #0094 (last seen in Missouri in those photos?), ironically formerly owned decades back by the former owner of #0099. Have you picked up that one, too?

Nobody that I know of accurately replicates the door decal, although some guy has been offering an all green version on eBay. I created deadly accurate vector line artwork for the decal that vinyl cutters need based off what my former #1747's decal was, but what I've never gotten was color matches for the '76 model year version. Tried valiantly when I first saw #0025 in 2010, but the seller never got back with me on his.
