Chalet on ebay

That's the 3rd time I've seen that on ebay. Seen it as high as 8k never makes reserve. Looks nice though.

That's a clean rig but it has a rattle can rebuild on the engine. You can see all the over spray on the starter in one of the pics.

Dang. That thing is awesome! I cure don't have 8k laying around for one, but that is about the nicest I have seen.

Hmm. It's a '76 camper, but the truck is a '77 ... paint's not original for a Chalet, even a '77.

I also note they never show the top up, I'm thinking because the side "bellows" vinyl is detaching from the roof. I can see sunlight in one pic :shame:

The interior's nice and all, but the Chalet was transplanted, as noted the motor's been quickied ... I donno what the reserve is, but it seems high to me :dunno:

i saw it on ebay a few months ago. drove by the dealership it's on, pretty impressive just from the drive by. i didn't have time to stop & check it out. he also had an original style blazer that looked pretty sharp. other than that, a bunch of pos in his lot.

9th eBay listing for this one, actually, starting back in late June. It's serial #0661, Hartsock's Chalet from this sept 2005 ck5 ad - and, begging to differ with da main man on Chalets, this pastel orange / tan might be a factory original paint job? I offer this Rapid City SD Chalet #1024 (1st pic below) which is pastel orange / tan with the old peeling vinyl stripes on the Blazer sides. Plus I ran across this other '77 Blazer in Las Cruces NM with the same colors & stripes. No reply at all from that particular Craiglist seller for more details.

Could be, given the weirdness of the Chinook factory, that they had a leftover '76 shell that they put on a '77 Blazer, and that's what the #0661 turned out to be.

Oh wow, even after all those previous listings, I didn't catch the "liters".

Whatever's clever. I did try to point out to the seller back in June that I had a confirmation from the prior owner that the original 400 had been swapped out for a 350, and that the miles were 125k, but he never responded...

They do show the top up.

I stand corrected. But ...

Front left corner at the top ... if sunlight is coming through, so will wind, rain, and squirrels :haha:

Ya know, you may be right on the coloring, as I've seen a few orange ones. Only way to be sure is to check the RPO sheet; anybody in Boise wanna go by and scoop out the glovebox, see if it's still there? You're looking for code 16T5, but seeing as it says "Chalet Camper Conver" it's hard to miss :haha:

Oh yeah, and I'm the second "main man" -- first being Doug -- and that's only until somebody takes over running that damn website, now that I am Chalet-less. Somebody gonna step up? :D

Time to throw the latest 'high-dollar' one on the pile. The previous orange #0661 did actually sell for $9,900, but to a dealer who plans to sell it and other classic 4x4s at an Indiana dealership sometime this fall.

This one is #1382. Sure shines up good, kept indoors away from midwest salt, unless it was hauled in from somewhere else. I gather it was from an estate sale, and was sold maybe a week ago to this current person whose phone number is attached to various other classic cars around the country. This one suffers from the same 'vinyl fabric corner separation' problem the one above had. A common ailment, Chinook used material that shrinks too much over long periods of time.
