chalet spotted

Some of the first (small) Cherokees had V6. I think they were 2.8l

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Cherokee_%28XJ%29

From what I remember, they were dogs and had sucky gas mileage, He was better off keeping the V8. I bet that he blew up the V8 and had this motor laying around. There is no way he got better gas mileage with the V6. The I-6 wouldve been a better but still poor choice.

Interesting that overseas the cherokee had a Turbo Diesel option. That wouldve been bad azz.

2.8 tbi was a dog in my s10 and nearly the same mileage as my 91 tbi k5...yeah

I don`t think a 2.8 has the same bolt pattern as a SBC. I`d love to see some underhood pics. Still sounds like a good parts rig for the $$. Anybody email for more pics?

Uhh ... I'm vaguely recalling Buick V6 in older Jeeps? Maybe they put a BOP TH350 on it?

Did anyone notice that it has 1,012,000 miles on it according to the guy listing it? If it will last that long Im gonna be putting a jeep v6 in everything I own :D

The Blazer Chalet has a factory pop top camper, take it off if you want yet what a blast it has been. I have owned this blazer for 17 years so much fun, this truck has been from the back woods to the dunes. I had good times with this truck and many memories I hope that you get to have similar memories.

4x4, auto trans, A/C, power steering, power brakes, tilt wheel, cruse control.

Hunting or camping with a propane powered heater (I was warm even in freezing snow weather), stove, ice box, closet. . .

To save on gas mileage a jeep wagon engine was put it in the blazer. The v6 is good on torque as it pushed a jeep wagon and pushes this blazer just fine with gas savings to boot :)

I got the Chalet when there was 47k miles on it and paid dearly price long ago, now there is 1012k miles on the body still low miles for the year :). I bet that this is one of the cheapest priced blazers in the paper and a factory camper to boot :)

Disclaimer:
Any one wanting to buy an older carburetor type car or truck should be mechanical inclined :). The older fuel injected rigs often have computer code problems the older carburetor rigs air to fuel ratio problems that a mechanical inclined person can handle.
This rig is a bit of a collectors idem and if some one wants a completely restored 30 year old truck the price is according to the work done. So there are better Blazers in the adds that are restored and the price is according. Good luck on your hunt

Correct. 2.8 had an odd bolt up pattern. Gm makes a 3.4 v-6 that will replace the 2.8 engine in older s-10's. Those engines were dog's after 100k.

It is serial #1230, built 9/76. If I remember right from our phone conversation last week, he said its original 350 broke, and the Jeep engine was swapped in since he had it available....
