I plan on buying the Flowmaster Force II cat back exhaust from Summit Racing for my '88, costs $189 + Change. I heard the stock cats are pretty restrictive but I'm not sure, should I change it as well? Any problem with me bolting everything up with clamps?

The cat on my 85, was way restictive and rusted out. I took mine off and put the dynomax kit from summit, i am actaully putting it on right now, so far so good.

If you're going to use clamps, use the full wrap stainless ones not the U bolt jobs. We use those on the exhaust on our big rigs and they seem to work ok as long as you have a good over lap of pipe too. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Duke, could you let me know how the Dynomax install went? Did you go Dmax on both muffler and cat?

where can one get these clamps I to am doing the same project /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Summitt Racing carries them under the dynomax brand. Search for exhaust clamp and then look at the "band clamp" ones. You may be able to get them localy if you have a med./ heavy truck supply.

IMHO.. anytime I work on something, and plan on changing one part. I change everything. Buy a hi-perf. cat. it makes a difference.

Time to bust out my CC!!! Is Summit the cheapest place to order all my exhaust parts?
