Hey I just hit my 200 mile mark on new gears and locker. I changed the fluid today just wondering how much metal shavings on the magnet is normal??

Hard question to answer. How much? Who knows. But during break in of new gears, thats what supposed to happen. Change out the oil and run it for awhile. Change it again if it makes ya feel better. Then don't worry about it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah thats what I was plannin on doing. there were no pieces of metal just powder shavings stuck on the magnet. I know I have seen more shavings during oil changes on my 10 bolts.

normal wear will cause the grey powder effect.if the oil isnt changed every couple of years or not at all until you got the truck there will be the grey goo at the bottom of the pan.
