Changed Transmission Filter Truck Won't Move

I changed the transmission filter a few days ago...I drove it after that...I then jacked it up for a few days to fix the leak in the dipstick tube and the detent cable...

I just went out and was going to drive it to the transmission shop to let them have a look at that accumulator cover seal and .... it won't move.
 
Check the fluid, I know that is obvious.

Also are you sure you got the filter back onto the pump all the way?

Make sure the detent cable is not pulled tight for some reason. Like it is trying to kick the trans down a gear.

I am guessing from your other posts that it is a T-350?

The filter screwed in with two screws, they were tight.

Let me check the detent cable.
 
Fluid level first. Second. When you put the new filter on , you did put the little gasket between the valve body and the filter on right? Any pump whine type noise? Does it move at all and slip ?or does it have a lack of all movement?
 
OK! It had something to do with the 4-wheel drive. I dropped the front drive shaft and will leave it off until I get new u-joints and until I get this leak fixed.
I had to put the 4X into L Lok to get the transmission to move...not sure what that is all about but what a relief!!! I thought my tranny was hosed.
 
I forgot the 350's filter bolted to the V-body.

Check your t-case linkage. There is nothing wrong with the trans if shifting the t-case made it move.
 
That's normal, full time 203's need to be in the "Lock" position if either shaft is removed. There's a differential in the 203 that allows both axles to pull on pavement without binding, if a shaft is missing it freewheels.

I missed that he had a 203. That explains it now.

I wish I didn't have the 203...in fact I was blissfully deluded for a while thinking that I had a 205 until somebody on this forum burst my bubble when they saw a pic of it:doah:

Right you are, Ken.

I experienced and learned the same thing CB did with a Ford. But my luck on that day was not good when the front shaft was spinning while the tranny was in gear. The spider gear splines stripped completely. :doah:
