Sounds like you need to pick different trails so you can keep the 8-foot bed.

Lmao! Yeah, that would solve it right there! But, the trails closest to me (only an hour drive) are the most plentiful (lots of trails in one area) and also TIGHT!!!! East coast trails tend to be very tight and tree lined!
The square-body vans had aft tanks with driver-side filler necks. Have you looked into using one of those?
IIRC, Mosesburb did something like this with his '72 Suburban.
(dig, dig, dig)
Here is the post he put up about it.
HTH.
Thank you for the link! I'll check it out!
van tank goes in the rear he didn't want that .
and there just the right width they need work to fit up in the frame rails . there that close they rub .
Sounds like that might be a no go then, don't want to have to worry about fitment issues that bad! Thanks for the heads up!
I thought he was talking about potentially having a second tank in the aft position.![]()
Correct, and I appreciate the info on the option. I was not aware of the van option at all!
in title no blazer/burban tanks . hence why I thunk no van also .
Also, quite correct!!! Good looking out, thanks!
The reason I specified no Suburban/Blazer tanks is because I was able to find several threads on them and didn't want to rehash the same info when what I really wanted was info on what options people had found for an inboard mounted pickup truck style arrangement tank! (which I had found nothing on whatsoever!)
I do intend to run an aft axle tank (likely a Blazer one for simplicity's sake) so, I am certainly open to info about it BUT, I knew that was going to be the main thing brought up as an option for ditching the side saddle tanks vs I really wanted to know about a more pickup-esque tank arrangement since that's the route I want to go as well and have yet to come across anyone with a similar setup!
