I'm new to this kind of stuff, so I have a question from you who are in the know. I have a 90 k5, and was never crazy about the rectangular headlights. I've found a 73 clip in good shape Question: Will this 73 fit my frame, tub and headlight configuration without a major hassle.?.
Any experience is appreciated.
And all you folks up by Oroville our prayears up , watching this next storm
Be safe.

My plan is to change an 86 to a 73. It looks pretty easy to do. I think the front body mounts are slightly different.

There are obvious wiring things if you have dual headlights I was just gonna use it as an excuse to do the relay mod

Windshield wiper assembly has to be swapped to the early style, because the early wiper posts sit lower allowing them to park under the rear edge of the hood. Aside from that I think the front body mount under the rad support will need some tweaking...

So far it looks like a workable project, I'm checking with LMC Chevy trucks. They are expensive but it seems they might have the extra goodies I might need. Like a stainless bolt kit. I guess it's going to be a step by step learning process for me. I just like the round eye front end. And I love my K5. After the front end swap. I'm going manual/ stick. First things first.

Wasn't sure if it was possible or not, the firewall/cowl area was a bit different I thought.. If you do this better get some pics in there.. :deal:

I think the hood hinge arrangement needs tweaking to put a different nose on--maybe I'm thinking about putting an '81 up clip on an older truck though ?...been years since I saw one that had been swapped..

We had put a 73-80 clip on a military tub. Thought we just had to swap out the wiper arm assembly. Might of had to shim the front mounts to.
