Awhile back I tried rolling my rear window up and felt the handle get tight for a sec then totally disengage and i could freewheel it. I put the key into the lock and turned. When I pulled the key out, it took the cylinder with it.

So since then I have been using a big screwdriver jammed in the hole to put the window down/up. I finally got tired of that and today I went to buy a lock cylinder. When I swap this in will I need to remove the entire handle assembly? Thanks

Technical Manual 9-2320-289-20, M1009 CUCV. 16.4MB PDF Manual. Sorry I had to use Badongo, but its free with no acct. Almost a direct download for you.

From the few minutes looking for the task or simliar, I found the entire rear gate lock assembly removal/install, covered in Para 10-22, Page 10-81. I think this is what you're asking for ? If not just let me know and I'll look some more.

As for experience in completing the task - I got nothin.... :dunno: CUCVs simply get driven into the ground now, then auctioned once they quit being functional. The gov doesnt fund their up-keep anymore (In a major sense of the term).

Good luck !
