Changing the shift knob on '94 NV4500

OK sometimes I feel like a pro, and then something comes along and makes me feel novice all over again. So the whole shift lever will thread off near the bottom, but how on earth do I remove the shift knob itself? I have one I'd like to pop on there.

Actually I’d like to know too.
We have a 94 nv 3500 truck same deal with the shifter.

On my 94 4500 I just grabbed it and spun it off.
Spun the brand new one I got from Larry on and tightened the jam nut.

Honestly never tried. Thought it was all molded into the stick. I’ll look today.

Loosen the jam nut {technically tighten, clockwise} and spin er off {counter clockwise}.

Mine on the NV3500 is molded to the stick… guess she stays stock.

I tried but it feels like someone put thread locker on that son of a bish. Maybe I just need to try again.
