Quick question about the charcoal canister, trying to wrap my head around all my fuel and vacuum lines before I have to deal with them. I know one port is for the 1/4” vapor line from the gas tank, one is a breather? And the third gets vacuum? Here’s a pic of my carb:

I know the big one in the center goes to the pcv valve on the valve cover. I’ll be running the right side one to my distributer. So if the 3rd fitting on the charcoal canister is for vacuum could I pull from the timed vacuum port on the carb? Only other thing that requires vacuum that I can think of is the heater box, I think it uses vacuum to change vents? Should I just T off of the pcv valve for the heater box vacuum? Hope that makes sense.

So yes you would want to run timed vacuum on the vapor canister, so that you evac the canister at cruise. Normally there is a control switch electric or temp in between the vac source and the canister. I don't it will be a problem to run from timed port.
Your a/c control vacuum should be manifold vac, you can get from any source. Should be a vacuum reservoir near blower motor you'll need that to keep havc doors from switching to normal when at wide open throttle.

Great, thanks. does there have to be a switch between the vacuum source and the canister?

you should be ok with timed vacuum. If you notice a lean condition at cruise you may need to figure out a control for it.
