I have a 83 blazer diesel.Yesterday I couldn't get it to kick the starter.I had to jump it.I saw that it wasn't charging the battery.I replaced it with a new alt.IT did not do the trick.I'm at a loss to know what else it may be.:

How do you know it was the ALT? Did you check voltage? Should have been above 12.5. Check your wiring, no green or corrosion. How old is the battery?

Because it don't get a increase in volts.I actual lose power and my diesel only needs power to keep the fuel going through the injection pump.Should have plenty to supply charge. All connections are all good. Thanks for helping.

As for the wiring, makes sure the alternator is properly grounded to the block. Run an extra ground wire from a bolt to the block with a good clean connection and see if it helps. I had it happen once on my car, and even though everything looked good, an oily/paint surface in between the mounting ears of the alt and the motor/mounting made the regulator freak...

if not, don't give up, electrical problems can sometimes turn up to have the weirdest sources...
