I've been having a problem with my alternator not charging the battery and I've found that I wasn't getting continuity on the alt exciter wire. I pulled the fuse block and see that it was burned and bearly connected to the fuse block. Unfortunately I can't pull the fuse block back more than a few inches and it's really hard to even get needle nose pliers on the male connector to pull it out of the fuse block. My question is, would it be possible to wire the exciter cable to another spot on the back of the fuse block that would be easier to get to. I have an ez wire 21 fuse kit. There is no resistor or light between the alternator and the fuse block in the exciter cable. I was using an external regulator but have recently switched to an internally regulated alternator and the problem was occurring before that happened.
