I purchased a rolling 1990 4x4 chassis to harvest the 700R4 to swap into my 1972 Blazer. As I'm sitting there looking at the chassis I'm wondering if someone in the forum has already chopped down 1 of these chassis to fit a 1st Gen Blazer?

Assuming the ‘90 chassis is a Blazer the frame rails spread out towards the rear right at the front section of the rear spring hangers - this change was made in the late seventies to make more footwell room for rear passengers.
Amongst other variations this alone would make the swap difficult.

The chassis is from a pickup. Just going by wheel base, the 90 would need to have about 30" sectioned out of the middle to bring the rear forward. I haven't checked the width.

What type of ‘90 truck chassis is it - meaning is it a V-3500 ( Square body style ) or a GMT-400 IFS front axle type of truck ?
I assume that it is a GMT-400 K-1500 - if this is the case cutting down the wheelbase is the absolute least of the fabrication involved in putting that chassis under a ‘72 K5 body. Two totally different eras of GM trucks.

If it’s a square body style type chassis then it will be much easier but require a good amount of effort - the chassis do have some related dimensions but will still require body/frame mount mods and frame to body clearance issues plus drivetrain to body height clearance mods.

Anything can be done with enough skill set money and effort and this will require all three.
