OR Cheap chalet... Not mine

Given the number of them built, even a basket case is worth that I would think.

I seriously thought about going and looking at this. but the rust on the rockers, the missing headlight, the canvas not connected and the hood not closed makes me think its got too many issues. I haven't seen a more complete chalet section tho

Well, but that depends on whether there are others out there in apporximately the same shape but offered at a lower price. Not long back, an unidentified '77 Casa Grande was on Craigslist in Missoula MT with a better looking body but gutted camper interior for only $2k. Tracking as many as I have over the years, I've seen quite a few in roughly the same shape languish in multi-Craigslist relistings at $1500.

They are out there. The GoogleMap I have of the various 'for sale' ones gives a rough idea of how many are out there, but it's really hard to keep track of whether some sellers in the older listings I copied still have them or not.

I was thinking of current cost vs future value.... Eventually here there will be a lot less of those. And as far as square bodies go, they are among the rare ones to begin with.

Going with current prices amongst them, yeah maybe not as cheap as possible. But to get one, do some body work, and maybe hold it another 10 years, I'd think it reasonable..... Most of the fixed up ones I've seen have been $10-15k... Which is what I based it as cheap on lol

My problem is I would buy it and turn it into some zombie bug out survival vehicle
